July 2026 -

Following the successful conclusion of this year’s Conwy Pirate Festival, we have been overwhelmed by the incredible feedback on social media. Many within the re-enactment community have praised it as our best year yet, even drawing favourable comparisons to Brixham.

While we are incredibly proud of this success, the festival has reached a scale that is no longer sustainable for a small team. The vast majority of the planning,      compliance, and execution relies entirely on myself and my wife, Joy. As a self-employed professional, dedicating over a month of full-time work—alongside significant personal financial investment—is a model we cannot maintain moving forward.

The festival brings massive economic benefits to Conwy, boosting local tourism, hospitality, and commerce across the entire borough. Hotel bookings and stall      inquiries for next year are already rolling in, and we want to ensure the event continues to thrive.

To make the festival sustainable, we would like to propose a new partnership.   Someone who would be prepared to take over the administrative and bureaucratic    management of the event? This would allow Conwy Pirates CIC to focus entirely on what we do best: delivering the public programming, including the historical re-enactments, games, parades, and sea battles.

We would appreciate the opportunity to meet suitable persons or bodies and discuss how we might transition into a sustainable, collaborative partnership for the future.
